My name is Mac Ahrens, and I am a queer female artist from Chicago. I am a graduate of Columbia College, and I major in Illustration. Final Bell
A conceptual graphic novel of mine. Main protagonists Finn Coffman, a very anxious mortician with a book that allows him to speak with the recently deceased, and Angeline Naranjo, a rookie boxer down on her luck and picking fights for petty cash, come together under strange and unfortunate circumstances. They must traverse strange and dangerous realms together, while discovering what it means to grieve and feel loss in life.
Comics
Here are various comics, many of which come from a personal series of mine titled Self-Care. Comics are a passion of mine and are one of my favorite outlets for expressing myself and my feelings in a way that I, and hopefully others, can understand better. I also love telling little stories.
Character Work and Concepts
